Broadway Tower

Lady Coventry built Broadway Tower in 1797. The structure is a folly designed as a mock castle. There is a legend that this site was used as a "beacon hill" and could be seen by light beacon points to communicate messages all over England. Lady Coventry discovered that a test beacon could be seen from her home in Worcester, so she persuaded her husband to build the folly.

It offers a pictographic platform to view the Vales of Evesham and across the Severn Valley sometimes as far as the Welsh mountains. On a clear day you can see as many as twelve counties. This tower built on an ancient beacon site has a chequered past and today houses many exhibitions connected with it's past.

The tower is located close to the picturesque Burton-on-the-Water model village and the Cotswolds.
