This castle is all but forgotten. St. Catherine’s Castle sits high on the cliff overlooking the entrance to Fowey harbor. It is a small two-story fort built in 1536 to protect Fowey from marine attack. It was built by Henry VIII but is not as grand as St. Mawes Castle or Pendennis Castle at Falmouth harbor. Blockhouses were built on either side of the Fowey harbor mouth for extra support.

Today the area is neglected and is in poor condition. However, it is still available to be seen at stated hours.
